The regional climate, characterized by extreme temperature fluctuations, necessitates materials with exceptional thermal shock resistance to prevent structural failure in high-heat furnaces.
Currently, the local market is transitioning from basic fuel-grade carbons to specialized graphite petroleum coke. This shift is driven by the modernization of the metallurgy sector in cities like Tashkent and Navoi, where precision in carbon conductivity is paramount for reducing energy consumption during electrolysis.
Despite the availability of raw resources, the technical gap in high-temperature petroleum coking processes means that Uzbekistan remains a strategic importer of processed carbon products. The demand is increasingly shifting toward materials that offer lower sulfur content and higher carbonization yields to meet international environmental standards.
