The arid climate and extreme temperature fluctuations in regions like Isfahan and Ahvaz necessitate materials with exceptional thermal shock resistance. Consequently, the demand for calcined coke has surged, as it offers the structural integrity needed for rigorous industrial heat cycles.
Despite the resource wealth, the Iranian market is currently shifting from basic fuel-grade coke to specialized graphite products. This transition is driven by the need to upgrade aluminum smelters and steel plants to meet international efficiency standards and reduce carbon footprints.
