The region's strategic position within the EU makes it a critical node for the distribution of carbonaceous materials.
However, the local market faces challenges due to stringent European environmental regulations (EU ETS), forcing a shift from traditional petroleum coking methods to more sustainable, low-emission sourcing and processing technologies.
Currently, there is a growing demand for specialized graphite products that can withstand the extreme thermal cycles common in Slovakian aluminum and steel plants, moving the market toward higher-grade synthetic graphite solutions.
